About

    Sapna Agarwal ACA

    Founder & Director, Stertha Advisory

Your tax adviser should understand your business — not just your returns

I founded Stertha Advisory because I saw too many founders and property developers getting generic advice from firms that treated them like filing deadlines. They deserved someone who understood what they were building and could structure it properly from the start.

As an ACA-qualified Chartered Accountant regulated by the ICAEW, I bring the technical rigour of the profession with the commercial pragmatism that growing businesses actually need. Every engagement starts with your goals — not a template.

I work directly with every client. No junior handoffs, no call centres. When you book a consultation, you speak with me.

    ACA Qualified

Chartered Accountant, ICAEW regulated. The highest standard in UK accounting.

    Specialist Focus

Tax structuring, EIS/SEIS, SPVs, and wealth planning for founders and developers.

    Stertha Advisory

    Why Clients Choose Stertha

We are not a generalist accounting firm. We do specific things, for specific people, at a very high standard.

    01

    Direct Access

You work directly with Sapna — not a junior associate. Every strategy is built by the person who signs off on it.

    02

    Niche Expertise

EIS compliance, SPV structuring, BADR planning, R&D claims. We go deep on the areas that matter to founders and developers.

    03

    Proactive, Not Reactive

We do not wait for year-end. We flag opportunities and risks in real time so you can act before the deadline, not after.

    How We Work With You

Every engagement follows the same predictable path — from the first call to ongoing strategic support. No surprises, no scope creep, no junior handoffs.

    1. Free 30-minute consultation

We start with a confidential conversation about your situation, your goals, and the questions on your mind. You leave the call with a clear view of the options open to you — whether or not we go further. There is no obligation and no sales pitch.

    2. Scoped proposal & engagement letter

If the engagement makes sense for both sides, you receive a written proposal setting out the work, the fees, and the timeline. Engagement letters comply with ICAEW professional standards and protect both parties. Fees are fixed wherever possible — hourly billing is the exception, not the default.

    3. Delivery against a real timeline

You get realistic deadlines and we hit them. Compliance work is delivered well ahead of statutory dates. Advisory pieces — restructures, EIS applications, valuations — follow project plans with clear milestones. If something slips, you hear about it from us first.

    4. Ongoing strategic support

Most clients move into a continuous advisory relationship after the first piece of work. That means quarterly reviews, real-time flags when tax rules change, and direct access whenever a decision has tax consequences. We do not wait for year-end to add value.

    Standards, Regulation & Insurance

Working with a chartered firm means more than letters after a name. These are the standards we hold ourselves to — and the protections you have when you work with us.

    ICAEW Chartered Accountant

Stertha Advisory is led by an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales — the UK's leading professional body for accountancy and finance. ICAEW membership requires multi-year training, passing 15 examinations across financial accounting, tax, audit, and business management, and committing to a binding code of ethics. Membership is reviewed annually and is subject to continuing professional development requirements.

    Anti-money laundering supervision

As a UK accountancy practice, we are supervised for anti-money laundering compliance under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017. We carry out client due diligence on every engagement and maintain records in line with HMRC and supervisory body requirements.

    Professional indemnity insurance

We maintain professional indemnity insurance at the level required by ICAEW for the scale and type of work we undertake. This protects clients in the unlikely event of a professional error and is a condition of holding chartered status. Cover details are available on request before any engagement begins.

    Data protection & confidentiality

Every engagement is governed by strict confidentiality obligations under both ICAEW professional standards and UK GDPR. Client data is held on UK and EU infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest, and accessed only by people working directly on your file. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

    Registered & based in London
